Life Writing for individuals
Have a life writing project you’d like to tackle on your own but could use an informed cheerleader as part of your team—someone who not only can give you support and encouragement, but who can also provide helpful strategies and tips for actually completing said project? 👋🏻 hi! (Or, as Taylor Swift would say, Hi, I’m the [coach], it’s me.)
Some people thrive when they can work 1:1 with another person—and that’s great! What I bring to your team is accountability (yes, I’ll give you homework!), strategies I’ve learned as a professional editor working with writers that can help you make progress on your life writing project, someone to hash out ideas with (so you’ll feel less alone), and resources on various elements of life writing, writing, and publishing.
Options for Individual Life Writing
1. Hire me to be your writing coach: You’re likely familiar with personal fitness trainers, yes? The people that you hire when you want to achieve a specific fitness goal? Writing coaches are similiar. No, I won’t make you do 100 push-ups or run around the block, but I am here to help you achieve your specific writing goal. I offer customized packages for my coaching clients—some people like that added boost of accountability and hire me for one Zoom call a month, a check-in, if you will; others appreciate feedback on writing they do along the way. Packages start at $150 a month and go up from there, depending on your specific needs and preferences. Want to hop on a free 20-min call to learn more about how coaching works for your life writing project? Contact me and I’ll set that up asap.
2. Join my Life Writing for Groups Class: Um, Chris…why are you including something with the word “group” in it on your Individual page? Excellent question, and hear me out. By signing up, you’ll join a cohort of 5-6 other life writers from all over the world, so, yes, you do become part of a group and you can benefit from these group elements (to learn more about the benefits of being part of a group, go here)…however, you only have to participate as much as you feel like. Prefer to sit back, take in the info, and not say a single word? You can do that and you won’t be made to feel put on the spot if that’s your preferred learning style. I include this option here as a more budget-friendly choice and where there are 1:1 elements built in (each participant receives some private coaching, for example). I offer this course only a handful of times throughout the year—you can get more information on my 6-week class here.
Christine was wonderful, and always hit the mark between being supportive and encouraging without over-reaching. I feel this course was exactly what I needed to push me forward. I feel more convinced that my story is worth telling, and feel better equipped to tackle the assignment.
